Put on your dancing shoes! Asia's largest TV street dance competition returns with Asian Battleground 2017 (ABTG2017)

Kuala Lumpur, 16th November 2017 – Get ready to be blown away by the best street dancers across the region as Asian Battleground 2017 (ABTG2017) - Asia’s largest TV street dance competition - kicks off its quest for the best dance crew in Asia!

For its fourth instalment, Asian Battleground 2017 has travelled far and wide to 12 Asian countries, locking in the Top 17 contenders who will compete in the dance-offs to be the best in Asia and do their nations proud.

Renowned dance judges, C.Hsiang and Firebac, and the superstar dancer of Step Up 2 fame, Mari Koda, went across Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Indonesia and the Philippines to handpick promising individuals and dance crews to undergo a series of intense audition rounds filled with creative challenges and uphill battles.

From the country of the reigning champions, Formosa Crew, comes Taiwanese hopefuls, ZEROFOUR and Taiwan Waackers. Formed in 2009, ZEROFOUR is a multi-award winning eight-man B-boy squad with coveted trophies under their belt, including the prestigious Taiwan National Championship 2017. Taiwan Waackers consists of the top waackers of the nation - one of the most popular dance styles in Taiwan. The group hopes to charm the audience with their dramatic and energetic moves. Both teams will be put under immense pressure to uphold Taiwan's reputation as the top dance nation.

Flying the Malaysian flag are ECX and Eagle Ace. Elecoldxhot, known as ECX, are no strangers to the dance scene. Returning from their hiatus, the local favourites are back with new blood joining the fray. ECX has participated in TV competitions and multiple international events, and was crowned the champions of Astro Battleground in the past. Elecoldxhot has been regarded as the top dog in the Malaysian dance scene since 2007.

Formed by the best Malaysian individual talents from the auditions, Eagle Ace is looking to take their craft to greater heights. The two Malaysian crews will settle for nothing less than the No.1 spot, relying on their diverse cultural backgrounds and slick moves to beat the competition.

Featuring a star-studded roster made up of six maestros of various dance styles, MBS Crew of Japan was assembled for the sole reason of dominating the Asian Battleground stage. Each of them is highly-skilled and renowned, having won international competitions across the globe such as the prestigious World of Dance 2016 with their strong cultural heritage and precise choreography. MBS Crew is set to be a force to be reckoned with in this fierce battle between nations, but it remains to be seen if MBS Crew can follow in their predecessors, Best Soldier Strong’s footsteps of winning ABTG.
