黄妙珠考SPM期间，李宗伟向她告白

李宗伟重提当年在世界青年锦标赛期间，向正在考SPM的黄妙珠告白要对方成为他的女朋友，但当时黄妙珠因为父母和姐姐不允许拒绝，但李宗伟仍然主动告白。

李宗伟也说到为了保护黄妙珠避免受到媒体和家人的压力，因此把两人的关系保密长达8年，若时间能够重来李宗伟说自己还是会有一样的选择，“我不会改变我为她所做的一切。 因为我真的很爱她。”

I would kicked her chair to get her attention. I would asked her to became my girlfriend when I played at the World Youth Championship and when she was sitting SPM. I would asked her to quietly be my girlfriend despite she said 'no' due to objections from her parents and sister. I would wait for her at the staircase area at our hostel to talk to her. I would grabbed her hand to run up the stairs when we hear outsiders coming in the staircase area. I would keep our relationship under wraps for 8 years to protect her, from media's and family's pressure. I would marry her. I would be a dad of three with her. If I can turn back time, I won't change anything I did for her. Bcos I love her so much truly. I will hold her hands till the end of time.
